COVID GUIDLINES UPDATE 17/05/2021 - Club Re-opening!!

Dear fellow members,

Brilliant news! This week, the UK Government announced that we will move to Step 3 of the COVID-19 Response – Spring ‘21 Roadmap on Monday 17 May. We have now received confirmation from Sport England that squash clubs and venues can reintroduce full court squash for adults and juniors from Monday.

Key updates include the following permitted activity.

  • Players can get on court with multiple households and play full court squash e.g  best of five with tie-breaks, and singles and doubles (squash bubbles and modified versions not required). The maximum number of players on court allowed are 4 adults or children.
  • Coach-led sessions can take place in any number (within the maximum venue capacity limit) but the maximum number of players on court allowed is 4 adults or 6 children. Coaches are allowed on court and are not included in the total number of players on court.
  • Coaches can provide Out-of-School Setting activities to all children (6 max per court), with no restrictions on the total number in attendance.
  • Spectators are allowed to return, but must observe maximum of six people or two households as well as social distancing rules and wear face coverings.
  • Indoor bar/restaurant/cafe areas are allowed to open, and must follow the current UK Government guidance.

Whilst we are allowed to return to full squash, we all must continue to observe current UK Government restrictions for the health and safety of players, spectators and the workforce.

All court bookings will continue with the new Online Booking System. Racketball and Squash Internal leagues will start up again from Tuesday 01st June 2021. If you participated in any league during March 2020 you should receive an email about re-entering into that same league. Please let Paul or Rob know your preference on re-entering the leagues.

You can access the 'BACK TO SQUASH' guidelines from England Squash if you click here. If you require any further information then please feel free to contact me.

Kind regards

Paul Devey (Club Secretary)

Welcome to
Spalding Squash and Racketball Club

The best choice for squash and racketball in South Lincolnshire

About Us. The club was founded in 1970 operating with a single squash court in a barn on a member's farm. Finance was raised and the current building opened with two courts in September 1972 with a third court being added in 1976 and our Glass back court opened for business in 1979. The club is constituted as an Amateur sporting club run by a committee of elected members. Any surplus that is accrued from yearly membership subscriptions is re-invested in the facilities for the benefit of its members.

Membership of the Squash and Racketball club is easy!  You can join at any point in the year.  Your annual subscription includes court lighting so there are no ongoing court fees to pay. Once you join you can play as many times as you want and, as members, have access to the club 24/7.

Spalding Squash & Racketball Club internal leagues are a great way to meet other members and play against opponents of your own ability whether that is beginner or club team player level.

Thanks to a Sport England Olympic legacy grant, and Club funds, over £120k has been invested in the clubs facilities since 2015 including refurbishment of all 4 squash courts, changing rooms and the club room. All courts are viewable from the first floor club room.  See all the facilities available here.
